EVERMAN FIRE SUPPORT COULD USE A DRINK!
On any large fire or other local emergency that you volunteer
fire department goes on (yes, Everman fire is all volunteer),
there is another group of volunteers that is just as importantly
involved. The Everman Fire Support Group is a group of volunteers
(mostly firefighters? spouses or family members) that responds
to major fires and events to provide firefighters and other
emergency workers with refreshments, cold towels to cool down
with and a resting place for them when they need it. Especially
during times of extreme heat and drought, the support group
often becomes low on supplies. Because they have no budget
and operate mostly on one fundraiser per year (annual Easter
Egg Hunt) and donations, it is important that they get help
with supplies. Although they currently have a supplier for
bottled water, if you care to help this group out, they would
gladly accept donations of 20 oz. bottles of Gatorade and
bagged snack items, along with towels or other suitable items.
You can bring your donations to the Fire Station at 400 W.
Enon. The Support Group meets on the first Sunday of each
month at 2:00 pm at the Fire Station and they are always looking
for more volunteers.
