Cage Comforters
Finding loving homes for abandoned and homeless animals is
one of Everman Animal Control's primary goals. Anything we
can do to help this cause would be much appreciated by the
people that work so hard at the shelter.
There are many ways to help the shelte - donating food, toys,
blankets, etc. One great idea that would help out both the
shelter AND the animal in need is donating your time in making
CAGE COMFORTERS ! These comforters go in the cage/kennel and
help make the animal comfortable, therefore more attractive
to potential adopters. Seeing a cat or dog on a cute comforter
is much more attractive than a pile of newspapers. When the
animal is adopted, the comforter goes with him or her to its
new home!
T he
comforters are very easy to make, using scrap material and
batting. You don't need to be an expert sewer or especially
crafty. Instructions are provided for these cage comforters,
as well as "KITTY BALLS", for those of you who would
rather crochet than sew! If you cannot donate time in making
these comforters, then perhaps you could donate materials
or a financial contribution.
If you have any questions or would like a set of simple instructions
on making either of the above projects, please contact Toni
Peres at City Hall (817/293-0525) or Thomas Newsom at
Animal Control (817/561-5495).
Please help our furry friends find loving homes!
Thank you!
